Itinerary

Day 1Depart US (overnight flight)

Day 2Welcome to Iceland

After departing the evening before, a Mojo Active Adventures representative and our local guides will meet you early the next morning at the Keflavik International Airport. We’ll refuel over breakfast, then enjoy a tour of the picturesque Reykjanes Peninsula, providing you with a short introduction to the land of “fire and ice”. We’ll visit several geothermal areas and work our way along the south coast to our “base camp” accommodations for the next 4 nights.

Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
Destinations: Arrivals and Reykjanes Peninsula
Accommodations: Hotel Laekur

Day 3Ice Climbing Adventure

Donning crampons, our expert guides will lead the group on a memorable trek across the vast glacial tongue and blue ice of
Sólheimajökull. Using safety ropes and harnesses, we’ll try our hand at ice climbing and take in the sights of this incredible
natural wonder. Afterwards, as time and weather allow, we’ll explore several more sights along the southern coast.

Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
Destinations: Sólheimajökull Glacier and Southern Coast
Accommodations: Hotel Laekur

Day 4Hiking and Super Jeep Tours in the Interior Highlands

Crossing rivers, small canyons and various volcanic eruptions sites, the group will have two (2) options to explore the spectacular
landscapes of the rugged highland interior:

Option A: Fimmvörduháls hike – the neck between 2 glaciers from Skógar to Pórsmörk (More Difficult — Full Day)
Option B: Pórsmörk “Valley of Thor” hike – (Moderate – Half Day)

Both groups will access the hiking areas via a spectacular SuperJeep ride and enjoy lunch along the way. We’ll assemble in Pórsmörk for a group dinner that evening.

Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
Destinations: Highlands Hiking
Accommodations: Hotel Laekur

Day 5Fat Bike Highlands Adventure

Today we’ll explore the backside of the mountains via fat bikes. Due to the huge variability of the landscape and roads, it’s easy to
find a route that fits your abilities and desires. Whether you’re up for a challenging ride on an unpaved, lava-rock lined path or a
more relaxing ride along a gravel road, this will be an incredible day!

Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
Destination: Fjallabak
Accommodations: Hotel Laekur

Day 6Snorkel Between Two Continents and Transfer to Reykjavik

After breakfast, we’ll set out for Þingvellir, a UNESCO world heritage site and home of the world’s oldest existing parliament. There we’ll have the opportunity to snorkel in crystal clear, glacierfed waters between two continents (the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates). The only place in the world this can be done! Afterwards, we’ll make our way to Reykjavik — Iceland’s thriving waterfront capital where our guided tour will officially come to its conclusion. After checking into our hotel, enjoy a free afternoon and evening exploring the city’s many sites, shops and restaurants.

Meals: Breakfast (Lunch and Dinner on your own)
Destinations: Pingvellir National Park and Reykjavik
Accommodations: Hotel Alda or comparable hotel in Reykjavik

Day 7Group Departures or Optional Blue- Lagoon Extension

Bid farewell to Reykjavik and transfer (on your own) back to the Keflavik International Airport for your morning flight, or opt to
extend your adventure and visit the world-famous Blue Lagoon (a 45 minute ride from downtown Reykjavik). If interested in this
extension, please contact us for assistance with local hotel arrangements.

Accommodations
Hotel Laekur

Family owned and operated, Hotel Laekur is a cozy, farmhousestyle inn located in south Iceland. Central to many of our group activities, it will be our “base camp” for the majority of the adventure.

 Hotel Alda

Hotel Alda is conveniently located in the heart of Reykjavik’s bustling city center. Its rooms reflect Iceland’s affinity for contemporary and streamlined design and it features a full restaurant and bar off the main lobby.

(Optional Extension): Blue Lagoon Silica Hotel

Set in the heart of a stunning lava landscape (you’ll feel as though you’re on the moon), Silica hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the Blue Lagoon. However, the hotel features its own private lagoon (exclusive to hotel guests only). A winner of multiple design awards, it offers an oasis of calm, relaxation and harmony. The perfect place to wind down after a week of adventure!
