Dive Deeper, Try Something New and Find Your MOJO with us this Fall.  Mojo Active Adventures has joined forces with Wellness Expert and IPEC Professional Life Coach, Carolyn Mahboubi, to bring you an empowering 5 day/4 night custom adventure set against majestic red rocks and towering mountain peaks.

In addition to all that a classic MOJO trip has to offer, our “Dive Deeper” Colorado Springs Adventure provides an opportunity to build upon your confidence and comfort zone by taking action toward fulfilling goals in any area of your life.  Your adventure begins the day you sign up.  You’ll receive an initial, pre-trip “Dive Deeper” session with Carolyn that sets the stage for our Colorado adventure.  An optional, but valuable opportunity offered is for you to take an Energy Leadership Assessment (ELI) before the trip and receive an in-depth debrief during the adventure.  This assessment is a world-class tool that measures how you are showing up energetically in various aspects of your life.  The insights you gain will help you create your life with intention and on purpose. You will leave the adventure with new insights, likely many “aha” moments and an achievable plan to move forwards towards the life you desire.

Join us if you:

• Love experiencing new adventures in beautiful natural settings

• Prefer luxurious accommodations over “roughing it”

• Want to gain knowledge and learn new skills to help you achieve important life goals

• Believe one of the best investments you make is your personal growth and physical wellbeing

• Want to have fun!

Featuring MOJO’s signature blend of active adventure, wellness and luxury, trip highlights include:

• Pre-trip “Dive Deeper” IPEC Energy Leadership Index Assessment** and one-on-one debrief during the adventure with Carolyn Mahboubi

• Learning the joy and subtle art of fly fishing during a privately-guided introductory clinic on one of Colorado’s nearby, award-winning rivers.

• Scaling majestic red rocks with sweeping panoramic vistas during a combination alpine hiking/introductory rock climbing adventure in picturesque Cheyenne Canyon.

• Four (4) nights luxury accommodations at the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club

• 50 minute spa treatment (massage, facial or body treatment) at the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club

• Optional morning yoga sessions

**The Assessment and What It Measures:  The Energy Leadership Index Assessment provides powerful insights into how you show up in various aspects of your life.  It measures your potential leadership ability by your awareness about who you are and what life is all about.  Your ability to lead people, including yourself, to take positive, productive and sustainable action.  How involved or engaged you are in your roles and tasks on the job and at home.

Itinerary

Day 1Welcome to Colorado Springs

After arriving at the Colorado Springs airport, you’ll transfer to our nearby “basecamp” for the duration of the adventure — a luxury boutique property featuring incredible views of the nearby Garden of the Gods National Park. Connect with your fellow travelers over a welcome reception and dinner.

Meals: Welcome Reception and Dinner
Destinations: Colorado Springs
Accommodations: Garden of the Gods Resort and Club

Day 2Optional AM Yoga and Group Coaching / Afternoon Custom "Learn to Fly Fish" Adventure

After traveling, we’ll loosen up muscles, get the energy flowing and kick off our first full day in beautiful Colorado Springs with an optional AM group gentle yoga session. Following a delicious, healthy breakfast and utilizing the stunning backdrop of the nearby Garden of the Gods National Park and Pike’s Peak, Carolyn will facilitate an optional group energy leadership workshop, setting the stage for many adventures ahead. We’ll later depart for a half-day, private, introductory fly fishing clinic on one of Colorado Springs nearby, award-winning, scenic rivers. Our experienced guides know the ins and outs of these rivers and will teach the basic skills and techniques to ensure a successful and fun outing. (Hint – it’s all about “finesse” and listening to and watching the river). Group dinner to follow later that evening back at the resort.

Meals: Breakfast / Lunch (Riverside Picnic) / Dinner
Destinations: South Platte River (exact location TBD closer to adventure)
Accommodations: Garden of the Gods Resort and Club

Day 3Your Choice of a Morning Hike / Afternoon Optional Individual Coaching and Spa Treatments

Take advantage of some extra sleep or choose to join us this morning on an invigorating hike. To give our guests the ability to choose a level that resonates with them, enjoy your pick between two (2) area favorites:

A) Garden of the Gods National Park Hike (Suitable for beginners and those seeking a more moderate experience) — Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1971, the Garden of the Gods is a true marvel. Our private hike will be led by a naturalist-guide and take you on well-trafficked trails throughout the park, providing you with a fascinating history of the land as well as an “insiders glimpse” of this national treasure.

B) The Manitou Incline Trail (Advanced hike, must be in good physical condition) — 2,744 steps to glory. This trail will allow you to truly test your limits. With gains of over 2,000 feet in elevation and grades as steep as 68% in places, it has attracted the likes of runners, Olympic athletes and those seeking a unique alpine hiking experience. The trail was originally built as a cable car route to carry materials to build pipelines on nearby’s Pike’s Peak. The rails were eventually removed but the railroad ties remain in the form of a massive staircase. Locals started using it for a challenging workout. (Note: once you’ve made it to the top, you will hike back down on a nearby outlet trail as walking down the Incline is highly discouraged). Depending on your fitness level, it can take between 30 minutes to an hour to summit to the top.

Afterwards, if desired, take advantage of one-on-one coaching with Carolyn or choose to enjoy some extra R&R (included spa treatment) at our beautiful resort. To provide plenty of flexibility to explore the surrounding area or take advantage of some desired downtime, dinner will be on your own this evening.

Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / (Dinner on your own)
Destinations: Hiking (Location to vary depending on group preferences and abilities)
Accommodations: Garden of the Gods Resort and Club

Day 4AM Alpine Group Hike and Introductory Rock Climbing Clinic / Private Colorado Craft Brewery Presentation and Dinner

Capping off our days of adventure, we’ll travel to nearby Cheyenne Canyon for a memorable, group high-country alpine experience. During our half-day outing, we’ll hike several scenic trails taking in the sweeping vistas of the surrounding canyon. Later, we’ll try our hand at rock climbing during an introductory clinic (suitable for all levels and abilities).

Later that evening, we’ll toast to our many accomplishments during a custom Colorado craft beer flight/farm to table dinner in downtown Colorado Springs.

Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
Destinations: Cheyenne Canyon, Colorado Springs Craft Brewery
Accommodations: Garden of the Gods Resort and Club

About our Special Guest
Carolyn Mahboubi

Carolyn Mahboubi is an IPEC-trained professional life coach, single mother, ultra-marathon runner, and a passionate advocate for creating sustainable happiness.

Soon after arriving in Beverly Hills from Iran at 11, Carolyn became fascinated by the fashion world, and went on to open Versace’s first U.S. franchised store on Rodeo Drive in 1982 when she was just 16 years old. While successfully managing her growing business, Carolyn graduated from USC with a Bachelor of Science in business administration before continuing to build her influence in the luxury fashion industry. As a fashion maverick, Carolyn established a thirty-year professional career building high-end brands such as Versace, Hermès, YSL, and Gucci.

Personally, Carolyn’s journey was not always so smooth.  Finding herself in a failing marriage, Carolyn initiated a difficult divorce before becoming the full-time single parent to her two very young children.  Like many single mothers, Carolyn successfully navigated the complexities of parenting and working full-time to provide the life her children deserved.  In the process, she learned how to creatively leverage support from family, friends, and colleagues to reach a satisfying balance in her life.

However, in her mid-40’s, Carolyn gradually began to realize that the things that used to satisfy her, personally and professionally, had become less rewarding, and she confronted some of the physical challenges of growing older – including chronic back pain that gradually began to impact her active lifestyle.  Carolyn realized that some self-reflection and reinvention were in order.

Carolyn made the life changing decision to hire a life coach; one who helped her achieve dreams and goals that were so beyond anything she dared to set for herself.  With her coach’s help she went from chronic debilitating pain to running ultras, left a toxic relationship and lay the groundwork for meeting the partner of her dreams, gathered the courage to leave a job that was prestigious but not in line with her values, and ultimately created harmony and purpose in every area of her life.  As friends and family observed Carolyn’s transformation, they began to ask how they too could make a shift to achieve greater happiness.  This is how Shift Life Coaches was born.

Today, Carolyn is helping men and women lead more fulfilling lives through her work as a professional life coach. Trained at IPEC (Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching) and a member of the International Coach Federation, Carolyn takes her clients through a proven methodolgy, delivering powerful and sustainable results in a short period of time. Now in a rewarding relationship with her partner, John, she lives in Los Angeles with her two teen children.
