Carve out some well-earned MEtime next Winter in the lush tropical jungles of Belize. 

Start with sunrise yoga on top of a Mayan ruin.  Travel back on horseback stopping along the way for a private,  riverside, picnic lunch.  Spot jaguars up close.  Cross a river three times and see ancient Mayan artifacts and a crystallized skeleton while exploring a cave.  Learn to cook like a Mayan.   Enjoy sunset cocktails and views of the surrounding jungle on top of a Mayan temple.

• Four (4) nights accommodations at Ka’ana Resort (an award-winning member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World network) 

• Morning yoga atop the ancient Mayan ruins of Xunantunich

• Guided horseback ride from Xunantunich to a private, chef-catered riverside picnic 

• Visit the Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) cave system (one of the most impressive caves within the Mayan lowlands).  We’ll cross three rivers and explore huge underground chambers containing incredible ancient Mayan artifacts.  Be prepared for a full morning of adventure!  Important note: Due to liability restrictions and to provide our guests with the freedom to choose activities that resonate with them, there will be a separate registration and fee of approx $150 for this adventure.  

• Hands-on Mayan cooking class — steeped in thousand years of history,  you’ll learn the secrets of preparing flavorful, classic dishes from local experts. 

• Jaguar interaction at the nearby Belize Zoo.  — get up-close and personal with one of the area’s most majestic residents. 

• Sunset cocktails atop an ancient Mayan temple with views of the surrounding rainforest and Lake Yaxha

• Hiking and jungle wildlife viewing 

• Daily breakfast, lunch and dinners (chef-prepared and locally-grown culinary cuisine) 

• Cultural visit to nearby San Ignacio

Final payment is due 60 days prior to our trip departure. All trip payment are nonrefundable.  Mojo Active Adventures must strictly adhere to this policy to offset costs incurred prior to the commencement of the tour.  To protect your investment against the unexpected, we strongly recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance.  We are happy to provide you with a quote for this through our partner Travelex Insurance. 

Trip Minimums: All pricing is based on 12 guests participating in the tour. While we will do our best to avoid cancelling a departure, should a scheduled tour need to be cancelled due to low participation numbers, you will receive a refund of all payments made (including deposit). We simply request you refrain from booking airfare until receiving confirmation that trip minimums have been met.

Note: No prior experience is required with any of the activities we offer and all applicable equipment and safety instruction will be provided. However, these are physically-active tours, so please contact us if you have any concerns or physical limitations so that we may suggest suitable alternatives. Additionally, all activities are optional. You always have the ability to skip something if it does not resonate with you. This is your experience!

Itinerary

Day 1Welcome to Belize

After arriving at the Belize City International airport, you’ll enjoy a private transfer to our “basecamp” for the duration of the adventure — a luxury , award-winning boutique property set within the lush jungles of Western Belize. Connect with your fellow travelers over a welcome reception and dinner. (Bonus: We’ll stop along the way for a private, up-close jaguar interaction at the nearby Belize zoo).

Day 2Yoga atop a Mayan ruin, Horseback ride to a riverside picnic lunch, Chef-prepared dinner

After traveling, we’ll get energized with a healthy breakfast and then loosen up muscles, get the energy flowing and kick off our first full day in a spectacular way with yoga atop an ancient Mayan ruin. We’ll visit the majestic site of Xunantunich. In addition to yoga, we’ll hike throughout the ruins with an archeologist as our personal guide. Afterwards, we’ll saddle up and take a memorable horseback ride through 400 acres of lush green farmland. Stopping along the way for a private, gourmet, riverside picnic Group dinner to follow later that evening back at the resort.

Day 3Explore an ancient Mayan cave, Treat yourself to an optional spa service, Enjoy a hands-on Mayan cooking class

Wake up early. Fuel yourself with a healthy breakfast. Cross a river three times then explore the ancient Tunichil Muknal Cave (ATM cave). Hidden in the heart of the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve and deep within the jungle, discover one of Belize’s most impressive caves. Expect a full day of adventure (swimming, climbing and exploring the huge underground chambers of this massive cave). Once inside, you’ll climb through to major interior cathredals, which hold ceramic and skeletal remains from ancient Mayan sacrificial ceremonies.

Day 4AM yoga, Cultural visit to San Ignacio, Road trip to Guatemala for sunset cocktails atop a Mayan temple

Start your day with an energizing yoga session followed by a cultural tour of nearby San Ignacio village. That afternoon, enjoy a dip in the resort pool, an optional spa service or some extra R&R. Then, we’ll take a 60-minute drive across the border to discover Belize’s neighbor to the West — Guatemala. We’ll visit Yaxha National Park where we’ll enjoy a private guided tour of this hidden gem.

Just before sunset, we’ll climb a Mayan temple for cocktails — majestically overlooking the surrounding rainforest and lake Yaxha. We’ll trek back through the jungle with torches for our return to Ka’ana and our farewell dinner.
