General Questions

Note:  Upon trip registration, you will be sent a list of FAQs specific to your destination (including applicable passport and international travel and currency details).  Please also refer to our individual trips pages for additional information.

What’s included in the price of a tour?

You’re on vacation. We want you to relax, unplug and leave the details to us without worrying about reaching for you wallet. Therefore, we include nearly everything in our trip experiences except airfare.


  • Hand-selected, stylish boutique accommodations that reflect the true character of an area (no big box chains)

  • All meals as outlined in the itinerary (we eat well!)

  • Private, comfortable group transfers for the duration of the tour (we travel in style and forgo big tour buses)

  • All activities and excursions as outlined in the itinerary (including expert guides, safety instruction, entrance fees and all applicable equipment)

  • Guide gratuities for all included activities

  • Custom MOJO jacket/gear (simply show up dressed the part — we’ll take care of the rest!)

  • Exclusive Isobel Jewelry piece for each attendee on all Signature Women’s Tours (we love surprising you with a little extra bling)

  • A personal MOJO Active Adventures representative with you every step of the way (everything from pre registering you for the tour to accompanying you and handling all the logistics on the trip).


  • Airfare

  • Any meals outside those outlined in the itinerary (to allow for flexibility to explore the area on your own and enjoy some extra down time, we typically build in a meal or two on your own each trip)

  • Alcohol and room/resort incidentals (unless that glass of wine or sip of a tasty local brew is already included in the specific experience).

  • Associated medical expenses (we require all travelers carry medical coverage – please see our Supplemental Trip Insurance page for more details)

  • Any activities outside of those outlined in the itinerary.  (We wrap in a lot on these adventures, however we’re more than happy to make recommendations and book additional tours or services, either during or pre/post trip, if desired, for an additional fee).

If I book a tour, is it guaranteed to run?

Most of our trips require a 10 person minimum to run or an additional supplement if those minimums are not met. However, we will do our best to make it work whenever possible. In the event a tour does need to be cancelled due to low numbers your trip deposit will be fully refundable. We simply ask that you hold off on purchasing airfare until you receive confirmation that our minimums have been met.

Do I need to be experienced in these activities or in great shape to join your adventures?

No prior experience is needed with any of the activities we offer. In fact, most of the people joining us are trying things for the first time. We provide all applicable safety instruction, equipment and partner with only the best, most qualified local guides to ensure your experience is a success. While you don’t need to be an Olympic athlete or hard-core fitness enthusiast to join us, these are active-based tours, therefore a basic level of fitness is suggested. If you have any concerns or medical issues we need to be aware of, please reach out and we’ll be happy to address them.

Do I have the ability to opt out of an activity?

Plan to go “all in” and challenge yourself. However, if something simply does not resonate with you or you have a physical or medical concern, you always have the option to skip it or substitute for something else. We will tell you though, the end reward is truly worth it, so our hope is for you to go for it whenever possible. After all, that’s what adventure is all about.

Can you handle special dietary restrictions or requests?

Absolutely! We request these well ahead of our scheduled departures to ensure we have you covered. Our resorts and off-site dining venues are equipped to handle a variety of special dietary requests. Simply let us know your preferences and we’ll be happy to accommodate you.

What if I need to cancel my trip?

Per our Terms and Conditions, all trip payments are nonrefundable. To ensure you’re adequately covered in the event of a last-minute emergency or unforeseen trip interruption, we strongly suggest purchasing supplemental trip cancellation/interruption insurance at the time of booking. Please see our Supplemental Insurance page for more information.

What if I encounter a medical issue or emergency on the tour?

Trip participants are responsible for any and all out-of-pocket medical expenses associated with their participation on a MOJO Active Adventures tour. Consult with your individual insurance provider to ensure your current coverage is adequate (particularly when traveling internationally). Refer to our Supplemental Insurance page for more details.

What should I pack for my adventure?

Never underestimate the power of showing up dressed the part. We want you to arrive feeling prepared and ready for action. Please consult our Packing Suggestions (they are specific to each destination and can be found on our individual tour pages). Additionally, check out MOJO Active Adventures’ Pinterest Page and take advantage of special “Gear Up” nights/offers with our local partners. (More details on these to be emailed to trip attendees).

How do I book a tour?

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we accept all major credit cards for booking.

Can you help with travel arrangements pre and post tour?

Yes, we are happy to assist you with planning pre or post stays in the area. This includes booking additional hotel nights, arranging extra tours, suggesting activity and dining options as well as coordinating transportation. Just let us know how long you’d like to extend your stay.

Is gratuity included on the tours?

Yes, to enable you to focus on enjoying yourself and not worrying about the details or carrying around extra cash, we take care of guide gratuity on all included activities. (Note: any activity outside of our planned itinerary or designated as an “add on” will have an additional suggested guide gratuity.)

I’m interested in visiting one of MOJO’s destinations with my family or friends outside of a scheduled tour? Can you help with trip planning?
