We don’t sell someone else’s pre-built packages or itineraries. Everything we do is carefully curated and unique, based on first-hand experience and years of combing the globe and vetting partners. We take pride in developing our own trusted suppliers whether they be individuals, partners or part of a larger network. We work with everyone – from the newest chef and the most remote cabin to award-winning five-star venues.
You’ll also find our scope and creativity extends far beyond the trip itself. From a personalized, pre-adventure package arriving on your doorstep, to a thoughtful treat on your pillow, to layering experiences in unconventional ways that result in moments that wouldn’t otherwise exist; we’re always searching for ways to surprise and delight our guests beyond the traditional “trip”.
We’re not in the business of telling people they can’t do things. In fact, quite the opposite! We believe anybody can do anything if they are passionate enough and willing to work hard and learn as they go. But there is tremendous value in experience, contacts, know-how and of course, being dedicated to putting in the time to create an incredible adventure. We find our clients love the level of input in the process, the personalization and surprises along the way, and the experience of a truly unique adventure that goes off without a hitch – without having to put in the significant time and research themselves.
For the most part, MOJO does not book commercial flights, with the exception of some domestic air transfers when part of an itinerary. It’s simply not our area of deep expertise and we find that many times our clients prefer the flexibility of using mileage award credits. We will, however, advise you on best ways to get where you’re going and can steer you toward travel websites who can help.

We prefer to book lodging on the adventure because we’ve learned that the “where you stay” portion is a key part of the entire adventure. With that said, if you’re looking to take advantage of a hotel loyalty program membership, we’ll do our best to work with you. In most cases, we’ve found that in order for us to plan comprehensive, seamless trips, we devote countless hours vetting the best boutique hotels, seaside inns, mountain retreats and other accommodations. So, you can show up and lay your head to rest knowing you’re in good hands – and great places. Simply put, we take the possibility of a bad lodging experience out of the equation.
Timing depends on a variety of factors, from how far in advance you contact us, to how complex an adventure you want us to create. We pride ourselves on successfully planning trips in a week to creating more detailed adventures that take months to arrange. You’ll find we work quickly, thoroughly and passionately with whatever time we are given. But we have found that the more advance notice we have, the quicker and easier we can work to create exactly what you want. Details like lodging and flight availability, holiday excursions, extreme customization, highly restricted regions, or remote locations and activities can affect trip timing. While we’re always up for a challenge, quick turn-around trips can be a little stressful on everybody involved and we find that an extra dose of flexibility in those situations goes a long way.
We wrap a lot into our adventures. Our prices are comprehensive and generally cover most of the costs of your trip. Because you’re buying a personalized trip, each custom itinerary has a single trip price which includes all the things you’ll be doing, places you’ll be going, and places you’ll be staying. This includes lodging, transfers, guides, activity fees and more. In fact, our customers tell us one of the things they love most about our trips is simply showing up knowing all details have been taken care of and not having to reach for their wallets at every turn. There are a few things that are not included in the trip price including: flights to and from destination, tipping, travel visas, shopping ☺, and sometimes meals (depending on the specific itinerary and locale).
- How are the trips structured? Are they all fully-guided or do we have the option for self-guided tours?
We can customize your adventure to the level of guidance you prefer. We’ve got the flexibility to set it up as a completely guided trip, mostly self-guided tours or if you want a combination of both- great! It can also depend on the particular locale you are visiting. Some destinations lend themselves more to self-guiding and others warrant extra guidance and help. As part of our planning process, we’ll make recommendations on the best ways to structure the trip to make sure we’re setting you up for a successful adventure and an enjoyable experience. Whenever possible, we’ll provide options on guide levels.
Yes, we arrange accommodations for all our adventures. In fact, they are often one of the most unique, luxurious or unexpected highlights. We typically include all transfers as well as local guides, adventure, activities, and special events. We’ll even make restaurant reservations or anything else you’d like us to arrange. Of course, the level of planning is always personalized to your style. Some trips are highly orchestrated so that every minute is filled to the brim with places to see and things to do, other trips are more laid-back with more flexibility and spontaneity built-in. As always, the level of planning and support is completely up to you.
This is often the million-dollar question. (And no it’s not that much). There are many factors involved. We encourage you to consider the overall cost from the beginning and identify which parts of the trip are most important to you. Is it the luxury of where you stay, the length of the trip, the fabulous meals you’ll have, a strong shopping budget or is it more experiences and less pampering? As your personalized adventure plan progresses, you’ll develop an increasingly better sense of budget. For our part, the more specific you are about your budget, the better we’ll be able to work to it. If you want our help in budgeting, just ask. We’re happy to help.
Once the basic structure of your trip has been discussed and agreed upon, we’ll provide you with an overall trip quote and collect a confirmation deposit (typically 30-50%). Full payment is required 30-60 days prior to travel (domestic trips) and 60-90 days prior to travel (International trips). Please refer to our TERMS AND CONDITIONS for more details.

Yes, in fact we strongly encourage our clients to protect their investment against the unexpected through the purchase of a supplemental insurance policy. You bet! While our trips typically involve some sort of active element to them, the desired level of intensity is entirely up to you. ALL of our trips are custom-built to your specifications. It could be as simple as taking a walking food tour or a leisurely bike-ride through a winery to scaling a mountain or trekking a glacier. In addition, we’re happy to suggest alternatives for others in your group – whether it be a multi-generational group or family traveling together, people with limited mobility or groups of friends who don’t all enjoy doing the same things. Whether your idea of active is a yoga class before a massage or hang-gliding off the Alps, we’ve got you covered!
Absolutely! We’re well accustomed to handling special dietary requests. We simply ask that you inform us as early as possible. You’ll have the chance to let us know about your food preferences on our detailed intake form.
We’ve found that gratuities are a highly personalized thing. It depends greatly on the person and the situation. For that reason, tips are not generally included in your trip price. We do, however, provide tipping guidelines in your travel documents for those that want a reference. And if you’d like them built in upfront, we’re happy to oblige.

MOJO trips are custom-built and private for your group. So, we work with a range of group sizes. We will tell you that we consider ourselves “small-group” adventure travel specialists. Our sweet spot is in the 6 -14 people range. However, we can create everything from trips for families of 4 to corporate groups of 30 or more.
