Why You Should Double Down on Croatia & Slovenia

I’m just back from an unforgettable journey and can’t wait to share the highlights of my adventure to Slovenia and Croatia. These two gems of Europe promise to be the next big thing in travel and offer all the elements we’ve been talking about in “Quiet Luxury” – without the crowds.

Slovenia: A Hidden Treasure

Imagine a country that blends the best of Switzerland, Italy, and Austria, within the size of New Jersey. Slovenia is that magical place. For years, it’s been on my radar, and it delivered beyond my highest expectations. This underrated destination is a dupe for Switzerland with fewer crowds, high value, and breathtaking vistas.

To say this adventure was packed with epic outdoor experiences is an understatement. Here are just a few of the activities I was able to check out during my stay:

  • White-water rafting on Slovenia’s emerald green Soča River
  • Bike riding through the Soča Valley filled with spectacular views
  • Hiking in the Triglav National Park, an important national treasure

But Slovenia is not just about adventure. The wine regions here are a revelation, producing world-class vintages that rival their more famous neighbors – Austria, Italy, Hungary, and Croatia.  Pair this with the country’s rich culinary scene, and you have a gourmet paradise. The “foodie adventure” in Ljubljana, known as one of Europe’s, most livable and greenest capitals as well as a city of diverse cuisines, was a great introduction to the country’s delicacies.

Historical towns and cultural landmarks add to the charm, making Slovenia a travel experience to place on your radar.

Croatia: The Perfect Balance

After the high-octane adventures in Slovenia, I found the perfect way to unwind in Croatia. This country is renowned for its stunning turquoise waters and idyllic coastline, making it a fantastic destination to relax and enjoy the blue waters and beaches.

Croatia also ticks all the boxes for diverse experiences. Whether you’re exploring its vibrant wine regions, diving into its rich history, or indulging in its food culture, Croatia offers something for everyone, but these were a few of my favorite local experiences:

  • Truffle hunting and wine tasting in Istria
  • Private motor yacht island hopping from Split and overnighting on the picturesque island of Hvar.
  • Wine and Tapas pairing on Korčula island.
  • Visit a family-run estate in Dubrovnik to enjoy the views, lunch and an ATV ride

Croatia also provides luxurious experiences without the hefty price tag, making it a smart choice for savvy MOJO clients.

Why You Should Go

Both Slovenia and Croatia offer a unique blend of adventure, culture, and relaxation, making them ideal for those seeking a multifaceted travel experience. Here’s a summary of why you should double-down and let us plan your next adventure in these countries:
