Home to glaciers, picturesque waterfalls and volcanic formations, this island country is unparalleled in extreme contrasts and provides an unforgettable backdrop for outdoor activities and exploration. Trip highlights include:  glacier ice walk and climb, snorkeling between 2 continents (the only place in the world where this is done), super Jeep tour and hike in the beautiful “Valley of Thor” (over lava fields, glacial outflows and rivers in the surroundings of nearby volcanoes), Icelandic horseback riding coupled with Mojo Active Adventures’ signature culinary, cultural and restorative experiences.

Day One:

Day Two:

After an early morning arrival at Keflavik International Airport, your adventure begins!  We’ll meet up with our local guides and explore, via private transportation, the southeastern region of the island en route to the evening’s accommodations, Ion Luxury Hotel – Iceland’s newest, luxury adventure hotel.  We’ll take in the dramatic scenery, recharge our batteries, then enjoy a welcome cocktail reception and group dinner before setting out to explore the other-wordly landscape on an evening guided hike.

Day Three:  

Our group will set out for the thrill of a lifetime — snorkeling between 2 continental plates. The only place in the world this can be done, we’ll don dry suits and enter water that offers unbelievable, 100+ feet clarity to swim between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates (No prior dive experience needed)! Afterwards, we’ll work our way down the southern coast of the island, stopping to check out the incredible sites along the way, en route to our luxury, farmhouse-style accommodations.  Later that evening, we’ll climb into super jeeps and head into the island’s rugged interior for a memorable group dinner.

Day Four: Donning crampons, our expert guides will lead the group on a memorable trek across the vast glacial tongue and blue ice of Sólheimajökull. Using safety ropes and harnesses, we’ll try our hand at ice climbing and take in the sights of this incredible natural wonder. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy lunch at a quaint village farmhouse. Following dinner later that evening, we’ll have a chance to enjoy first-hand the beauty and uniqueness of Icelandic horses during a guided horseback ride.

Day Five: Exploring some of Iceland’s most rugged and beautiful interior — our next stop is the incredible “Valley of Thor”. Traveling via super jeep and by foot, we’ll ride and hike over lava fields, glacial outflows and rivers in the surroundings of nearby volcanoes taking in the breathtaking scenery.

Day Six: We’ll head via private charter to Reykjavik — Iceland’s thriving waterfront capital. After checking into our hotel, we’ll explore the city on a guided bike tour. A group celebratory dinner will follow later that evening at one of the capital’s most famous and critically-aclaimed restaurants.

Day Seven:

If desired, sleep in and spend a leisurely morning sightseeing and shopping in beautiful downtown Reykjavik.  Or take advantage of bonus activities such as: whale-watching cruises, helicopter rides, etc… (to be coordinated through Mojo Active Adventures).

Later that afternoon, we’ll make our way to the world-famous Blue Lagoon and experience, first-hand it’s healing and restorative effects.
